This dessert is very easy and quick to make, and yet incredibly delicious. You can also use peaches in this recipe but you will want to peel them first.
Make the pastry by combining 8 T. salted butter, room temperature and cut into chunks, and 1/3 C. of sugar in a bowl. Mix with a hand blender until smooth.
Add 3/4 C. white flour and 1/4 C. finely minced or ground almonds or walnuts. Mix on low speed until combined; the mixture should be crumbly. Refrigerate.
Pit and slice 1 lb. of Nectarines. Cut 1 basket of figs into thin wedges.
Toss the fruit in a bowl with 1 T. fresh lime juice.
In a smaller bowl mix together 2 T. sugar and 2 T. flour. You can also add a dash of ginger or nutmeg. Toss the fruit gently with the flour mixture.
Spoon the fruit into individual ramekins or into a shallow baking dish. Remove the topping from the fridge and crumble it evenly over the fruit.
Bake until the topping is golden brown and fruit is bubbling.
