Terra’s Strawberry season started last Thursday when we picked the first few boxes of berries.  Thankfully, the weather dried out enough on Monday afternoon that we were able to harvest again, and those berries are in your boxes today.
One of the highlights of being a CSA farm for us is growing great tasting berries for your boxes in the spring.  And then, every fall seeing our subscribers and their kids walking through our newly planted strawberry field at our annual Farm Day celebration, smiling from ear to ear while picking and eating ripe berries right off the plants.
This year, for the first time, we have decided to commit to opening the farm to subscribers during the main part of the strawberry season for picking.  Beginning at the end of April, you will also be able to come up to the farm on a Saturday and pick as many berries as you like.  And unlike at Farm Day, when you may be lucky to find one ripe fruit or two on each plant. there will be lots of berries available.  Lots.
If you can’t make it out to the farm or don’t want to, no worries.  Everyone will still get berries in their boxes during the week, 1-2 baskets depending on the weather and the harvest.
The U-Pick Berry days will be open only to current TFF subscribers and their guests.  For more information, including dates  and how to sign up, check your inbox for the email version of this newsletter!
